Further direction for the European Universities Initiative discussed in Brussels

The Vice-Minister of Education, Science and Sport, Dr. Regina Valutytė, participated in the meeting of Rectors of the European Universities alliances in Brussels, Belgium this week. The aim of this high-level event was to discuss the future direction of the European Universities Initiative with leaders of European universities and decision-makers at EU and national levels.

Vice-Minister Dr. R. Valutytė joined a high-level discussion on the future vision of the alliances and the way forward for funding in the context of the European Education Area and the Union of Skills. The discussion also covered the added value of European Universities alliances for the higher education system and Europe’s competitiveness.

A total of 12 Lithuanian science and higher education institutions (or 40% of the country’s science and higher education institutions) participate in the European Universities Initiative. This is one of the highest national indicators across the Initiative.
