Lithuanian students bring home 3 Bronze Medals from the International Olympiad in Informatics
At the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics, students from our country won three Bronze Medals and one Letter of Commendation. For the Lithuanian team, this was their most successful performance since 2019. The Olympiad was held in the capital of Uzbekistan from 9th to 16th of August.
Bronze Medals were awarded to Augustas Kerys, a 10th-grade student at the Vilnius Jesuit High School (who got prepared for the Olympiad at the Vilnius University Saturday School for Informatics Olympiad Participants), Faustas Surplys, a 11th-grade student at the Vilnius Lyceum (who got prepared on his own), and Adomas Juodis, a 11th-grade student at the Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium (teacher Kęstutis Simonavičius).
Robertas Juknevičius, a 4th-grade student at Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium (teacher Kristina Serapinaitė), was awarded a Letter of Commendation.
The Lithuanian team was led by Dr. Jūratė Skūpienė (Institute of Computer Science, Vilnius University) and Aldas Lenkšas, a former Olympiad competitor who is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Polytechnic University of Milan.
This year, 375 students from 92 countries participated in the Olympiad.
