Lithuanian students win four bronze medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad
The 57th International Chemistry Olympiad held on 5-14 July in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was a success for Lithuanian students – all 4 members of our team won a bronze medal.
The bronze medals went to: Tomas Razbadauskas, a class III pupil of Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium (teacher Birutė Maciulevičienė), Robertas Juknevičius, a class III pupil of Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium (teacher Birutė Maciulevičienė), Justas Miliauskas, a class IV pupil of Vilnius Lyceum (teacher Rasa Žemaitaitienė), Joris Unikas, a class IV pupil of Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium (teachers Birutė Maciulevičienė, Edita Paluckienė).
The Lithuanian team was led by Lukas Šteinys, a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences at Vilnius University and a researcher at Thermo Fisher Scientific Baltics, and Eivydas Trioška, a student of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences at Vilnius University.
This year's International Chemistry Olympiad attracted a total of 1,000 participants from 90 countries.
