Lithuanian students win silver and bronze at the International Physics Olympiad
The Lithuanian team won 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and a letter of commendation at the 55th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) held on 18-25 July in Paris. This has been the best performance of our representatives at this Olympiad for several years.
Medals were awarded to: Eleventh-grade students of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Gymnasium Robertas Juknevičius and Tomas Razbadauskas (both trained by teacher Darius Virbukas) won the silver medal, while Vilnius Lyceum graduate Kipras Deksnys (teacher Eugenijus Rudminas) won the bronze medal.
Another KTU Gymnasium graduate Augustas Ukvalbergas (teacher Mantas Sriubas) was awarded a letter of commendation.
The team was led by Dr. Jevgenijus Chmeliovas, associate professor at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University and chief researcher at the FTMC, and Dr. Vytautas Jakštas, researcher at the FTMC.
