Minister Raminta Popovienė will visit the February 16th Gymnasium in Germany
On 19–20 June, Raminta Popovienė, Minister of Education, Science and Sport, is visiting Huettenfeld, Germany. During the meetings, she will discuss issues related to Lithuanian-language education and cooperation with the diaspora and will attend the graduation ceremony for the seniors at the February 16th Gymnasium. On 20 June, she will congratulate the Lithuanian community in Germany as it celebrates its 80th anniversary.
“The 80 years of activity of the Lithuanian community in Germany represent not only a significant chapter in history, but also living proof that Lithuanian identity remains strong wherever people cherish it. The community’s efforts to pass on the Lithuanian language, culture and values to the younger generation are an invaluable contribution to Lithuania’s future. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to building and strengthening this community over the decades. And I invite you to continue strengthening this vibrant connection with Lithuania,” says Minister R. Popovienė.
During the meetings in Germany, discussions will also focus on the measures of the 2025–2027 action plan for implementing the strategic guidelines for Lithuania’s relations with Germany providing support for Lithuanian schools based in Germany and the involvement of the diaspora in Lithuanian-German cooperation activities. Other topics of interest are also discussed, such as promoting German language education in Lithuania and contributing to the integration of members of the German Army brigade and their families in Lithuania.
