The Minister of Education, Science and Sport has called on all Lithuanian athletes and teams to sever all ties with Russia

‘Sport is usually decoupled from politics, but all possible measures must be taken against the aggressor. Therefore, I urge all Lithuanian athletes to sever ties with Russia, not to go to competitions in this country and not to accept athletes from this country in Lithuania. Our position is clear and strong’, said Minister Jurgita Šiugždinienė. 

Lithuanian sports federations are also assessing how they can help Ukrainian athletes.
